The Great Wolf Lodge Grand Mound is a family-orientated waterpark resort located 17 miles from Olympia, WA. The park, which can be found just outside of Grand Mound and is easily accessible from Interstate 5, offers well-appointed lodgings and a host of recreational activities for guests of all ages to enjoy.
Great Wolf Lodge includes 398 guest suites that can accommodate between four and eight persons. Suites vary in style, from standard family apartments to themed suites. All include opening windows, climate control and air-conditioning to ensure that guests will remain comfortable at all times.
Each guest suite is fitted with at least one private bathroom, which features shower/bathtub combination and hairdryer. Suites include fully-dressed beds, flat-screen LCD television, cable channels, coffee and tea making facilities, alarm clock, voicemail enabled telephone, and ironing amenities. Cribs are available for families traveling with younger children, whilst wireless internet access is complimentary.
Undoubtedly, the resort’s greatest draw is its range of recreational facilities, including its waterpark attractions. Younger visitors will enjoy the resort’s swimming pools, waterslides, and tube rides. Whether they are swimming, diving, playing games, riding the twisty slides, or trying out an exhilarating tube slide, children will find the waterpark both exciting and enjoyable.
Whilst the children are splashing around, parents can visit the Iron Horse Fitness Center, which offers the perfect place to exercise, before heading to Elements Spa Salon for a little rest and relaxation. Alternatively, an adult spa pool is available to sit back and rest in. Children shouldn’t feel left out either; the park also features Scoops Kids Spa.
The Great Wolf Lodge Grand Mound also offers a number of activities that do not involve getting wet. Children can enjoy a number of designed quests or head to the games arcade. Teenagers may wish to visit the designated technology center where they can use computers, play games consoles, partake in karaoke, or listen to music. Younger children may enjoy a bedtime story, which is read each evening before sleep. There is also a number of kid’s clubs that offer learning and fun.
In terms of dining, the lodge includes a bar, sweet shop, Pizza Hut Express, and Starbucks, as well as a pair of casual restaurants; Loose Moose Cottage and Camp Critter Bar and Grill.
Those that fancy a break from the resort shenanigans will find a number of adult-friendly activities outside of the resort, including golf and a range of restaurants.
Family-friendly activities to be enjoyed outside of the waterpark include a visit to the likes of Olympic National Park or Mount Rainer National Park, both of which offer fantastic examples of the stunning Pacific Northwest scenery. The Mount St. Helens National Volcanic Monument Headquarters can also be found in the region. Here visitors can take a look at the destruction caused by its 1980 eruption, and how the area is still recovering.
